Hubby and I have just returned from a roadtrip! We had a great time and caught up with wonderful friends, sharing delicious food and indulging in sensational vino.
On the way over, I packed food to nibble on: almonds, strawberries, chocolate, protein balls, pears and mandarins. We also took two large bottles of water.
On the way back, I didn’t get a chance to pre-pack sustenance, so we relied on the towns we passed through for supplies. Breakfast was a delicious juice and bliss ball, lunch was a tuna and bean salad… And then night set in. Greasy take away was the only option for a quick meal.
With the information available to us, I am perplexed as to why take away has not re-invented itself. Cafe’s that bring us amazing food are open from 7am to 4pm, so why can’t the next shift take their lead and offer tasty and nutritious fare?
Let’s hope dinner take away gets a brunch make over, and until it does, I’ll make an effort to pack my own!
