This week: Garlic

Garlic is one of the most popular ingredients in the world. And, it’s very easy to grow in garden beds and pots so you’ll soon have your own crop!

It’s best to start with an organic garlic as they are the tastiest, and the garlic you grow will be a clone of what you plant. Break the bulb apart and separate the cloves. Place the clove, pointy end up, in a hole around 6-8 cm deep. Cover with mulch and keep the soil damp.

Your garlic clove will start to shoot in a couple weeks. When the green shoots start to wither, it’s time to harvest your garlic, and grab your favourite recipe to flavour up!
